Shared journey: reflecting on 20 years of partnership with Lauterbach GmbH

GRYFTEC Embedded Systems team has many reasons to celebrate this year. Recently, we marked 20 years in business, and today we are celebrating two decades of collaboration and joint contributions with Lauterbach GmbH. We are honored that Lauterbach GmbH, the global market leader of debug- and trace tools, entrusted us with an opportunity that led to a partnership that continued for 20 years. This is a remarkable achievement and a reason to celebrate.

Starting with one project – how it all began

Lauterbach GmbH is a company with impressive achievements, a global presence around the world and the company where it all started.

When we started our cooperation in 2004, the Polish market of engineering services looked completely different. Many highly skilled engineers were looking for challenges and interesting projects to undertake. The opportunities offered by Poland’s growing engineering services market were a natural fit for a company looking for support with its product development.

Our cooperation started with a project to create scripts for JTAG tools, and to continue a VHDL project for FPGA. That was the trigger to establish GRYFTEC. We have been cooperating over the years and we continue to collaborate on multiple projects. – Jerzy Pieścikowski, CEO

Creating solutions – A look back

Within the next couple of months, a dedicated team was created to support Lauterbach in areas of on-request Peripheral File delivery. The team created the first converters which allowed us to automate and speed up the process of creating Peripheral Files.

As the collaboration progressed, the range of projects included new areas. New projects related to disassemblers, BSPs, simulators, drivers, and interfaces to integrate TRACE32® PowerView software with the external development tools of world-renowned vendors. Our support included design and development of elements and the environment for the TRACE32® application.

Thanks to our long-standing cooperation, seamless contacts and trust built up over the years, we feel a part of the team at Lauterbach, which helps us develop the TRACE32® product portfolio.
Lauterbach is the world leader in the market of tools for hardware debugging support for embedded systems. Working on various projects gave us the chance to learn about the latest innovations and acquire knowledge about some of the largest and most widely used microcontroller architectures such as: Arm / RISC-V / PPC / C6000 / ARC / MIPS / QDSP / TriCore / Xtensa / x86 / x64 as well as some less known ones.

Over the years, the collaboration between our two companies has intensified: First with the development of disassemblers, peripheral files and simulators, then with the development of the almost countless test programs for our numerous TRACE32® products, which are essential for fulfilling our quality standards and our ISO certification. Adapting to changes

During our 20 years of cooperation, both companies went through changes, including economic downturns and market changes. Adapting to these changes was important to stay ahead and meet the requirements of our partners. This meant using supporting tools for task management to streamline operations and to make process adaptions where necessary. Overall, there was one goal: final client satisfaction.

By staying flexible and responsive, we have maintained strong relationships and continued to deliver high-quality results.
